Readability Test
Paste a URL, paste your text, or upload a file to see how easy your writing is to read, and exactly which sentences are slowing readers down.
Why readability matters
A great idea buried in a hard-to-follow sentence still loses the reader. Readability scores are a quick, objective check on whether your writing is doing its job.
Readers skim before they read
Dense, jargon-heavy writing loses visitors in the first few seconds. Easier text keeps them on the page.
Search engines reward clarity
Content that's easy to follow tends to hold attention longer, which is itself a ranking signal.
Complex writing costs conversions
A confusing product page or landing page loses sign-ups and sales that clearer copy would have kept.

Questions about the readability test
If something isn't covered here, our team is happy to walk through your results.
Each score estimates how hard your text is to read, either as a 0-100 ease score (Flesch Reading Ease, where higher is easier) or as a U.S. school grade level (Flesch-Kincaid, Gunning Fog, SMOG, Coleman-Liau, and ARI, where lower is easier). They use slightly different formulas, so seeing them side by side gives a fuller picture than any single number.
